Uppsala Balboa Weekend, Aug 27-29 2004
The Balboa Revolution has come to Sweden!
Marty Klempner and Valerie Salstrom (Cleveland, Ohio) are coming to Sweden! Be a part of the first All-Balboa weekend in Scandinavia.
10 hours of Balboa/Bal-Swing instruction with Marty and Valerie and dances all three evenings - live band on Saturday and Sunday!
The weekend is targeted for those who have taken at least several introduction/taster classes in Balboa or a full beginner series course to those at an intermediate level. One must be familiar with the Balboa basics.
Two packages are offered: Full-Weekend Package (classes on Sat. and Sun.) and a Saturday-Only package. The Sat.-Only package is for those of you who believe your dance-level is not quite up to that much new material. The Full-Weekend package is for those who learn new things quickly and are at least an intermediate-level swing dancer.
Classes will begin with a review and fine-tuning of the basics and progress to more advanced moves. But focusing always on good technique and connection, not just the 'moves'. Marty and Valerie will not review what was done in previous classes and our goal is that all dancers get a more solid base; therefore, a Sunday-only package is not offered.

Note: The workshop is full and registration has closed! You are of course welcome to dance in the evenings!

Schedule
Friday evening registration opens 18:00, dance begins 20:00. Classes, both Saturday & Sunday start 9:30 and finish 16:00. Saturday dance 20:00 - 24:00. Sunday dinner 18:00, dance 20:00 - 22:00.
Location
All classes and dances on Friday and Saturday are held at Grand in central Uppsala. Sunday dinner and dance is held at Flustret, only 300m from Grand.
Meals
On-your-own, with exception to Sunday dinner. But we will have a list of nearby restaurants, where they are and what they serve, to help out. You can reserve a place for dinner on Sunday at Flustret (dance follows beginning 8:00pm) when you register for the weekend. Price is uncertain at this time, around 100kr.
Lodging
You can be a guest in the home of an Uppsala dancer or get a room at Hotel Linné.
